The Kitamaebori Green Space Water Play Area (waterside facility) is a free water play spot in Kitamaebori Green Space, Ota Ward. In 2026 it is scheduled to open from Tuesday 4/28 until around Wednesday 9/30, from 10:00 to 16:00; because the ward does not announce the closing date officially, the end of September is the usual guide. This green space has the long, narrow shape of a former moat that was filled in, and the flow of water that makes use of that terrain has become a playground for children. The water is shallow, so even toddlers who have just started walking can move on their own feet. The water is filtered and disinfected but is not drinkable. Because the site is close to Haneda, planes passing overhead while you play are a sight unique to this spot.

It closes on the regular cleaning days of 7/27, 8/4, 8/17 and 8/28. Several closures fall during the summer holidays, so always check before fixing your date. The ward does not announce the closing date officially, so if you visit in September, confirm the opening status on the official Ota Ward page. The water is not drinkable, so be sure to bring your own drinks. Changing space is limited, so wearing swimwear under your clothes shortens preparation.
