Next stop: A museum passing on the history of nori production in Tokyo Bay. Admission freeAbout this spot
This park, developed to reflect Ota City's history as a former nori-producing area, has an artificial sand beach that's rare within the ward. It faces a calm-waved inlet, and children can have plenty of fun just walking the sand or hunting for shells. There's also a lawn plaza and benches, so it's nice that you can set your things down and rest along the way. Early morning has the fewest people and is when the breeze off Tokyo Bay feels best. Keeping this stop to a light stroll, without using up too much energy, is a good way to pace yourself ahead of the afternoon's water play.
Tips
Swimming is prohibited, so hold off on going in the water until the afternoon's water-play spot. There's little shade on the sand beach, so don't forget a hat and sunscreen. There are restrooms and a drinking fountain in the park. Sand easily gets into shoes, so walking in sandals will make things easier afterward.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. The morning, before the temperature fully rises, is comfortable.
