The Nakakamata Park Water Play Area (Waterfront Facility) is a free water-play spot at Nakakamata Park in Ota City. In 2026, the season runs from around Thursday, April 30 to around Wednesday, September 30, operating from 10:00 to 16:00. The facility is a waterfront facility with three features - a fountain, stream, and pond - with water that's filtered and disinfected, though it's not drinkable. You can keep switching up how you play, from getting splashed by the fountain, to following the stream, to crouching by the pond to scoop up water, so it stays entertaining even over a long time. Admission is free, and it's within walking distance of Kamata Station too. Don't expect changing space, so wearing your swimwear under your clothes makes getting ready smoother.

Tips

It's closed for regular cleaning on July 29, August 7, August 14, and August 27. Since the closing date isn't officially announced by the ward (late September in past years), be sure to check in advance if you're going in September. It may not operate on rainy days or when the temperature is low. The water is filtered and disinfected but not drinkable. A guardian must accompany children, and be sure to hydrate frequently and take breaks.

Best time to visit

Entering at 13:45 lets you play plenty right up until the 16:00 closing time.
