About this spot

Maruyama Park Splash Pool is a free water play spot in Maruyama Park, Nakano Ward. In 2026 it runs from Saturday, July 18 through Monday, August 31, open 10:00-16:00, with two sessions: 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-16:00. The pool covers 42.5 square meters with a depth of about 35cm, offering a good area and depth for solid play among the ward's splash pools. It's shallow enough to sit and play in, so children comfortable in water can float toys and play for a long stretch. The water is tap water, refreshed daily and chlorine-treated, so hygiene is reassuring. Since it stays open through the end of August, you can plan a visit even near the end of summer vacation. Admission is free.

Tips

It closes on rainy days or when the water temperature falls to 22C or below. Check Nakano Ward's official website or on-site notices for operating status before heading out. It's closed from 12:00 to 13:00 for the changeover. At a depth of 35cm, small children may find the water comes up to around chest height when sitting, so keep a close eye on them. Bodies cool down after getting out of the water, so bringing something to wear over swimwear is reassuring. Water shoes help protect little feet from injury.

Best time to visit

Arrive by 13:30 for a full two and a half hours of play until closing at 16:00
