Tama Chuo Park (多摩中央公園)

Flow of the course

About this spot

Spreading out just below Parthenon Tama, this is a large park representative of Tama Center. At its center is a large pond, and thanks to the breeze crossing the water's surface and the surrounding trees, it stays comfortable in the shade even during peak summer. With well-maintained lawns and walking paths, families are always seen laying out picnic sheets and enjoying lunch. Walking around the pond, you may encounter waterfowl and dragonflies, making it a good size for a post-meal stroll. Make sure to eat well and rest here in preparation for the water play in the afternoon.

Tips

It's best to prepare your lunch and drinks in advance. The operating status of the park's shops and eateries varies by day, so check official information. The pond itself is not a place for water play, so save that for the afternoon venue. In principle, take your trash home with you.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 20 minutes. The shady north side of the pond stays cool even around midday.
