About this spot

Ipponsugi Park Nagare (一本杉公園 流れ) is a free water play area in Ipponsugi Park (一本杉公園), Tama City. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 18 through Monday, August 31, from 9:00 to 17:00. The stream is shallow and brook-like, and since the water is tap water managed with chlorine-based disinfectant, you can watch small children play with peace of mind. The park also has a baseball field and an old farmhouse, and being able to move freely between water play and a stroll through history within the same park is a way of spending time unique to this park. The surroundings are wrapped in the greenery of the Tama hills, with plenty of shade, so you can rest and spend a long time there. Admission is free, making it an easy place to drop by for just an afternoon.

Tips

The facility is closed for cleaning on Tuesday, July 28; Tuesday, August 4; Monday, August 10; and Tuesday, August 18. It's open from 9:00 to 17:00, so leaving a little early to allow time for changing clothes will give you some breathing room. Check the on-site signage and Tama City's official website for the day's opening status and any precautions. Avoid going barefoot; wearing sandals that won't easily slip off makes for safer play. It's also reassuring to check in advance whether changing and hand-washing facilities are available.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 25 minutes. Around 15:00, when the sunlight softens, the shade spreads out and it's comfortable.
