Daijoji Hillside Park (大乗寺丘陵公園)

Flow of the course

About this spot

This spacious park in southern Kanazawa City makes the most of a hillside slope. Gently sloping lawns rise in terraces, and climbing to the top rewards you with a panoramic view of the Kanazawa Plain. Many plum and azalea trees are planted throughout, giving the park a different character each season. Since it's an open space with little to block the view, it's an ideal playground for kids who love to run around. The summer sun is strong, so it's a good idea to keep your walk short and alternate between shade and open lawn.

Tips

The park has many slopes and stairs, so a baby carrier may be easier to move around with than a stroller in some areas. Shade is limited, so be sure to bring a hat and something to drink. There is free parking, but the distance to the entrance varies depending on where you park, so check the signboard first to keep your walk as short as possible. It's also reassuring to know the restroom locations in advance.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. Mornings with soft sunlight are the most comfortable
