A free water play area, the Higashihirao Park Otani Plaza Splash Pool (東平尾公園大谷広場じゃぶじゃぶ池), located in Higashihirao Park (東平尾公園) in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City. In 2026 it is open from Tuesday, July 21 to Wednesday, August 26, between 10:00 and 16:00. Because the pool is cleaned and refilled every day, keeping the water pleasant is a major reassurance. The water is shallow, so children from toddlers just learning to walk up through elementary schoolers can enjoy it together. The adventure corner with its roller slide and climbing equipment is right next door, and being able to move back and forth between the water and the playground all day is a charm unique to this park. Otani Plaza (大谷広場) completed a full renewal of all its areas in April 2026, so the facilities throughout the park are new.
