About this spot

This urban park of about 2,000 square meters is located in Shizunami, Makinohara City. It has a fountain pond and water channel, and in a typical year water flows from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., from July 18 (Sat) through August 31 (Mon). Admission is free. The water is fresh, shallow, and wave-free, so it's a safe place to spend time even after playing in the sea in the morning. The park has children's play equipment such as a slide and monkey bars, plus the greenery of the Seseragi Garden, letting you spend the whole day moving between the water and the play equipment. Because Haibara Children's Center is attached, it's also reassuring for families to have an indoor place to take shelter from heat or sudden rain. There are 20 free parking spaces.

Tips

This water is not for drinking, so let children know not to put it in their mouths. Running or jumping around is prohibited. Guardians must always accompany young children. It's also an important rule not to put trash or stones into the water. The opening period and hours may change depending on climate or facility conditions, so it's best to check with Makinohara City before your visit to be sure. Parking is limited to 20 spaces, so arriving early is recommended on summer weekends.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 20 minutes. Around 3:00 p.m., when the sunlight softens, is especially comfortable, and water flows until 4:00 p.m.
