Kano Pool is a summer-only outdoor pool in the Kano district of Shunan City. In 2026 it will be open from July 18 to August 31. Admission is an affordable 150 yen for each morning or afternoon session (50 yen for high school students and younger), and discount ticket books are also available. Because Kano sits at a higher elevation, the air stays cooler here than on the coastal side of Shunan City even in summer, and the breeze that blows after you get out of the water is a big part of its appeal. Surrounded by mountains, it has the relaxed atmosphere of a local community pool that doesn't get too crowded. Since it runs on a morning/afternoon changeover system, arriving in time for the start of a session makes it easier to secure a spot.
