Kure City Ondo Pool is a summer-only outdoor pool in the Ondo district of Kure City. It typically opens from Monday, July 20 through Monday, August 31, and offers two types of pools: an 8-lane pool measuring 25m x 16m with a depth of 1.1-1.3m, and a kiddie pool measuring 16m x 9m with a depth of 0.7m. The 8-lane 25m pool is spacious for a municipal pool, offering plenty of room for swim practice as well. The kiddie pool is 0.7m deep, shallow enough for small children to stand and play on their own feet. Located in the seaside town of Ondo, surrounded by the sea, the scenery around the pool has a distinctly summery feel. Admission is affordable at 200 yen per visit for adults and 100 yen for high schoolers and younger, making it easy to visit again and again throughout summer vacation.

The pool closes temporarily when heavy rain or other warnings are issued, or in severe weather. Check the opening status before heading out. Shaded areas are limited, so bring a hat, a rash guard, and remember to drink water regularly. There may be rules requiring swim caps, so it is a good idea to check in advance.

Takes about 3 hours 30 minutes. Entering after midday lets you play at a relaxed pace until closing.
