Tokamachi City Matsunoyama Pool is a summer-only outdoor pool located in the satoyama countryside of Matsunoyama. It typically opens from late July through mid-August, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm (closed 11:30 am to 1:00 pm). It consists of a 25m x 13m pool (water depth 1.0-1.2m) and a 10m x 10m children's pool (water depth 0.5m), so kids who want to swim and little ones still getting used to the water can spend time in the same place. Surrounded by mountains and rice paddies, this quiet setting is free of the crowds found at urban pools. Since it's a spot local children visit during summer vacation, travelers can also enjoy a glimpse into everyday local life here.
