About this spot

Located inside Chuo Park in Kurume City, this is a zoo centered on birds. You can see a wide variety of birds up close, including vividly colored flamingos, parakeets, and birds of prey. There's also an area where you can interact with small animals and a little amusement park, making it enjoyable even with young children. It's compact enough to walk around in about an hour, making it a great stop on a day when you have plans for the afternoon. Best of all, since it's in the same Chuo Park as the pool, there's almost no need to move your car, you can park once and walk everywhere.

Tips

Check the official information for opening hours, closed days, and admission fees. Sunny areas get hot on summer afternoons, so bring a hat and something to drink as you look around. In the areas where you can touch the animals, follow staff instructions and be sure to wash your hands. Returning your belongings to the car before heading to the pool will let you travel light.
