Hamakawa Outdoor Pool (浜川屋外プール) is a summer-only outdoor pool at Hamakawa Sports Park in Takasaki City. It offers five pool types — one of the most complete facilities in the prefecture: a 50m pool (50m x 25m, 9 lanes, 1.4-1.5m deep), a 25m pool (25m x 16m, 7 lanes, 1.0-1.1m deep), a 246m-long by 7m-wide lazy river (0.9m deep), a kids' pool with a slide (0.6-0.7m deep), and a toddler pool with a slide (0.04-0.35m deep). In 2026 it's open from Tuesday, July 21 to Monday, August 31. It operates in timed sessions, 9am to noon and 1pm to 4pm, with some days restricted due to competitions. Admission is 320 yen for high schoolers and up, 150 yen for junior high schoolers and younger, and coin lockers cost 50 yen.

Tips

Since the pool runs in separate morning and afternoon sessions, arrive in time for the 1pm start if you're using the afternoon session. Usage is sometimes restricted for competitions, so check Takasaki City's information for that day's operating status before heading out. Coin lockers require 50 yen, so bring change. If you want to enjoy the long lazy river, bringing your own inner tube makes it more satisfying.

Arriving in time for the 1pm afternoon session gives you the full 3 hours until 4pm.
