About this spot

A mountain station on the Hakone Tozan Railway, and the gateway to exploring Miyanoshita. The mountain train from Hakone-Yumoto climbs the mountain through a series of switchbacks, and during autumn the view from the train window is itself a highlight. The station sits on high ground, so you can look out over the colored mountains even from the platform. From here it is just a few minutes walk down the slope to the hot spring town.

Tips

The mountain train gets crowded on weekends during the autumn leaf season. It is best to ride during the early morning hours.
