About this spot

A facility open to the public that was once the residence of Yasuzaemon Matsunaga, a businessman known as the 'Power King' who was also a tea ceremony master. Centered around the nationally registered tangible cultural property teahouse 'Roukyakuso' (老欅荘), maples typically turn color from late November to early December. The garden surrounding the pond was selected in 2007 as one of Japan's '100 Historic Parks', and admission to the exhibition room is free. Located in a quiet residential area, it lets you savor the autumn leaves and the building's atmosphere at leisure.
