About this spot

This is the entrance facility of Manyo Park (万葉公園), located at the heart of the Yugawara hot spring town. The Entrance Terrace is free to use (the cafe is paid and closed every second Tuesday of the month), and from here you can stroll along the promenade beside the Chitose River. Surrounded by the murmur of the river and trees, the park has the calm atmosphere typical of a hot spring town. It's a perfect stop for a bite to eat or a rest before stargazing.

Tips

The park also has a foot bath facility called ‘Doppo no Yu (独歩の湯)’ (please check the conditions of use and fees on-site or on the official website). Wrap up before it gets dark and drive up to Hoshigayama Park (星ヶ山公園).

Before evening. Enjoy the riverside stroll while it's still light
