About this spot
This street was once the residential area for mid-ranking samurai in the late Edo period, and from the Meiji through Showa eras it became Odawara's literary street, home to many writers. About 50 Somei Yoshino cherry trees line the straight, quiet road, turning it into a tunnel of blossoms in spring. The road itself, on the way to the literature museum, is a highlight, and its atmosphere lets you sense traces of daily life in the old castle town.
Tips
Strolling the street is free. The literature museum is located along this street, so take your time walking there.
