About this spot

This film-themed memorial museum stands in a quiet spot just one street back from Komachi-dori (小町通り). It opened in 2010 on the site of the former residence of Mr. and Mrs. Kawakita, who introduced world-renowned films to Japan, and features exhibits and screenings of film-related materials, as well as a reading room and web search for film-related documents. In this Japanese-style space set just a step away from the bustling street, spending time looking at posters and materials while talking about films with your family is an experience unique to this museum. It's about an 8-minute walk from the East Exit of Kamakura Station (鎌倉駅東口), making it an easy stop as part of your stroll through town.
