Tsukuihama (津久井浜)
Flow of the course
About this spot
A shallow-shored beach along the Tokyo Bay side of Yokosuka City, known as a windsurfing mecca because of the wind blowing parallel to the shore, and a world championship has even been held here. In summer it's busy with swimmers, and in early autumn you can leisurely enjoy playing in the sand and collecting shells while watching colorful sails skim across the offshore waters. It's also nice that it's about a five-minute walk from the station.
Tips
If your child will be playing at the water's edge, bring a change of clothes and a towel. Since there's little shade on this beach, don't forget a hat and drinks.
Best time to visit
Morning to midday. A good time for a beach picnic
