Flow of the course

About this spot

A Chigasaki City museum adjoining Jokenji Temple, preserving and displaying two thatched-roof old farmhouses relocated from within the city, the Former Wada Family Residence (旧和田家住宅) and the Former Mitsuhashi Family Residence (旧三橋家住宅). Open 9:00-16:00, admission is free (closed on Mondays; if that is a holiday, closed the following weekday instead; also closed 12/27-1/4 for the New Year holidays). Rooms with an earthen floor and a sunken hearth are lined with old everyday tools and farming implements, letting you physically sense the life of 《your great-great-grandparents' era》. The garden setting backed by the satoyama landscape is also worth seeing. Parking is available.
