About this spot

This free-admission waterfront park spreads along the eastern side of Higashi-Ogishima (東扇島). The roughly 180-meter artificial beach 《Kawasaki no Hama》(かわさきの浜) is enclosed by breakwaters, keeping the waves calm, so families with small children can safely enjoy playing in the water and on the sand. There are also a barbecue area and a multipurpose plaza, where you can relax while watching ships passing through Tokyo Bay (東京湾).

Tips

If you plan to play on the beach, it helps to bring a change of clothes and a towel. If you go shellfish gathering, be sure to follow the park's rules on equipment and the minimum size of shellfish you may take.

Best time to visit

Early afternoon. Enjoy playing at the beach while it is still light out.
