About this spot

A park themed around peace, spread across a hilltop in Fukada-dai, Yokosuka. It is open from 7:30 AM to 11:00 PM and free to enter (parking at the adjacent Bunka Kaikan cultural hall is paid). From the panoramic observation deck you can take in the port and townscape of Yokosuka and Tokyo Bay, and you can leisurely enjoy the gradual change as the town lights and ship lights come on at sunset. The park is well maintained and easy to walk through, making it perfect for a family evening stroll.

Season & hours

Tips

It gets windy and cold on the hilltop, so put on a jacket before the night-view hours. Once it gets dark, watch out for steps and uneven ground on the park paths, and choose a well-lit route back to the station for peace of mind.

Best time to visit

Around sunset. The moment when the port lights start coming on while the sky still holds a hint of blue makes for the best photos.
