About this spot

This observation deck, reached by a spiral staircase, stands on the ridge of Tobio-yama (鳶尾山). You can take in the full view of the Atsugi cityscape and the Sagami Plain (相模平野), and the sight of the city lighting up into a night view as the sun sets is the climax of this course. Its hours are not officially listed. There are no shops or vending machines on the mountaintop, so bring drinks and snacks with you.

Season & hours

Tips

The mountain trail has no streetlights and becomes completely dark after sunset. Don't linger too long once you've enjoyed the night view, use a flashlight to light your footing and head back down early. Always hold hands with small children on the spiral staircase. Please don't push yourself on windy days.

Around sunset. The period from dusk until the city lights come on.
