About this spot

Urabandai's signature nature exploration route, where numerous ponds of varying sizes created by Mt. Bandai's eruption scatter across the landscape. The greatest charm lies in how each pond displays different hues—emerald green, blue-green, cobalt blue—due to differences in water composition and minerals. The pleasant forest boardwalk, surrounded by trees, offers especially vibrant contrasts between greenery and pond colors in summer. This is a perfect spot for families to sense the richness of Urabandai's nature firsthand during a stroll.

Tips

Walking the full circuit takes 2-3 hours round trip, but you can enjoy a partial route to one of the midway ponds if time is limited. Wear comfortable shoes. Insects are common in summer, so bring insect repellent.
