About this spot

An observatory located at about 1,400m elevation on the Shikoku Karst Tengu Plateau. You can observe through a telescope installed by Goto Optical Mfg., and in winter the Southern Cross (Gacrux) is said to be observable under the right conditions.

Season & hours

Tips

Planetarium screenings (17:00 and 18:00) are free but limited to overnight guests. Day-trip observatory use costs 800 yen for general visitors, 400 yen for elementary/junior-high students. Closed every Tuesday and Wednesday, and stargazing may not be possible depending on the weather, so please check opening hours and same-day conditions on the official website.
