A free-admission rural park in western Fukushima City with a view of the Azuma mountain range, adjoining Anna Garden (アンナガーデン), a collection of distinctive churches and workshops. Across its roughly 8-hectare grounds are scattered a spacious lawn plaza, a Western-style garden, a water mill, and more; the park has little elevation change and well-maintained paved paths, so strollers and the grandparents' generation alike can walk with peace of mind. At the craft hall, you can try hands-on experiences like kokeshi doll painting and glasswork (fee required, same-day registration), reassuringly enjoyable even on rainy days. There's also a restaurant and an ice cream stand, and a leisurely time unique to three generations flows here, watching grandchildren play on the lawn from a bench while taking a breather. On clear days, the park also boasts a view stretching all the way to Mount Azuma-Kofuji.
Tips
About 20 minutes by car from central Fukushima City, with ample free parking. If you plan to play on the lawn, kids will love it if you bring a leisure sheet and a ball. The craft experiences vary in duration depending on the activity, so check the finish time at the reception before signing up. There's relatively little shade in the park, so don't forget hats on sunny days.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes. The time in the afternoon when the sun softens is comfortable for playing on the lawn.
