Morito Daimyojin, Guardian Shrine of Hayama (葉山郷総鎮守 森戸大明神)
Flow of the course
About this spot
An ancient shrine connected to Minamoto no Yoritomo and one of Hayama's finest scenic spots. In the sea behind the main hall stands the red torii gate of Najima (名島), and on clear days Mt. Fuji appears beyond Enoshima. Also known for blessings of matchmaking and safe childbirth, a visit here in the sea breeze is a perfect way to start the day.
Tips
The shore behind the main hall is the prime spot for photos. The visitors' parking lot gets crowded on weekends, so arriving early in the morning is safest.
Best time to visit
Allow 40 minutes; early morning is uncrowded and Mt. Fuji is easier to see
