Pay respect at a scenic beachside shrine with a torii gate standing in the sea and views of Mt. Fuji

About this spot

An ancient shrine associated with Minamoto no Yoritomo and a signature scenic spot of Hayama. In the sea behind the shrine building stands the red torii gate of Naji Island, and on clear days, you can view Mt. Fuji beyond Enoshima Island. Known for blessings of love and safe childbirth, a visit while bathed in sea breeze is the perfect way to begin your day.

Tips

The sea coast behind the shrine building is the prime spot for photography. The visitor parking lot gets crowded on weekends, so arriving early in the morning is advisable.

Best time to visit

Allow 40 minutes; early morning hours are less crowded and Mt. Fuji is easier to see
