About this spot

Vintage Showa-era gondolas named 'Bambi' and 'Monkey' whisk you to the summit station in about 5 minutes. The view below—Nagatoro's streetscape and the Arakawa River, with distant Chichibu mountains—is spectacular. Children will have their faces glued to the windows with delight during this aerial adventure.

Tips

Generally runs at 30-minute intervals, with increased frequency during busy periods. Strollers can be brought on board, but the summit area has many slopes, so a carrier can be handy.

Best time to visit

Round trip plus mountain exploration takes about 90 minutes. Watch out for evening descent crowds
