Leisurely stroll along the lakeside where swans swim and enjoy a break
About this spot
A gourd-shaped lake with a circumference of about 3 kilometers located southeast of Kairakuen. The lakeside features well-maintained flat walking paths where you can observe black swans and mute swans up close. With a lawn plaza, fountain, and shops, this beloved spot of Mito residents fulfills both children's outdoor play and grandparents' rest time simultaneously.
Tips
The walking paths are flat and safe for strollers. There is little shade, so bring a hat and water in summer. Having lunch at lakeside shops or nearby restaurants makes the afternoon more relaxing.
Best time to visit
Plan about 90 minutes for the walk and lunch. Just before and after noon is bustling with families.
