A Castle-Town Stroll Gazing at the Turrets Remaining at Tsuchiura Castle Ruins
About this spot
A park built on the ruins of Tsuchiura Castle, affectionately known as "Turtle Castle" (Kamejo). The turret gate of the main enclosure is a precious structure still standing from the Edo period, and you can leisurely walk while pushing your bicycle through the green space surrounded by moats. Restored east and west turrets and other photogenic spots are scattered throughout.
Tips
Bicycle parking spaces are available. It's good etiquette to push your bicycle while walking in the park. The scenery along the moat is especially beautiful during cherry blossom and fresh greenery seasons, making it perfect for a couples' photo.
