A park developed on the site of the main enclosure of Utsunomiya Castle, which was counted among the "Seven Famous Castles of the Kanto" during the Edo period. The restored Seimei Turret and Fujimi Turret on the earthen ramparts stand out against the blue sky, and the walking path along the moat and wide lawn plaza are perfect for children's outdoor play. A free historical walk in the heart of the city serves as an oasis.
Tips
The lawn plaza is spacious—if you bring a picnic sheet, it's perfect for a snack break. Restrooms and vending machines are available, making it an ideal spot to wrap up your gyoza hopping with outdoor play.
