Stroll around the lakeside at 1,100 meters elevation and relax while admiring Haruna-Fuji
About this spot
A high-altitude lake at approximately 1,100 meters, cradled in the caldera of Haruna Mountain. The lakeside, with its view of bowl-shaped Haruna-Fuji, features well-maintained walking paths where you can enjoy boating and visits to lakeside tea shops. The lake is a perfect driving destination that transforms with each season—a summer retreat, azalea blooms in early summer, and autumn foliage.
Tips
The lakeside is 5-10 degrees cooler than lower elevations, so bring a light jacket even in summer. Free parking areas are scattered around the lake; parking near the ropeway station entrance makes getting around smoother.
Best time to visit
Allow about 45 minutes for your stroll. Afternoon lighting offers the best photo opportunities.
