About this spot

A shop and eatery at the entrance to the prefecture-run Asama Farm, spreading out at the gateway to Kita-Karuizawa. The soft-serve ice cream, known for its rich milk flavor, is a must-try specialty. The eatery also serves set meals made with highland vegetables, and a walking trail through the farm starts behind the tea house. You can walk off your meal with a light hike toward Mt. Tenmaru.

Tips

It gets crowded around lunchtime during the tourist season, so avoiding the noon hour makes for a smoother visit. Parking is free and spacious, so save the soft-serve ice cream as a treat for after your meal.
