About this spot

An aquarium with over 100 years of history, said to be Japan's oldest still in operation. The main attraction, the Toyama Bay grand aquarium tank, features an acrylic tunnel where fish swim overhead—allowing close observation of fish like yellowtail that inhabit Toyama Bay. The feeding show where divers enter the tank to feed the fish is hugely popular with children. With exhibits organized to comprehensively showcase Toyama's waterside life, including exhibits of creatures from local rivers and rice paddies, the scale is just right—not too large for small children to explore completely.

Tips

It's recommended to check the show times upon entry and plan your route accordingly. The interior is stroller-friendly, and it's a reliable destination on rainy days. The parking lot is shared with neighboring Mirage Land, so you can leave your car where it is.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 2 hours. Entering in the early afternoon aligns well with the shows.
