Sample the famous Fujinomiya yakisoba with an early lunch at the stalls in Yokochō alley

About this spot

A food stall alley right at the entrance to the Sengen Grand Shrine approach, where local Fujinomiya delicacies gather. The main attraction is Fujinomiya yakisoba, the representative local specialty. The chewy, springy noodles topped with the savory taste of meat scraps and the fragrance of bonito flakes create a unique flavor that is unforgettable once tasted. A shared table seating area in the central plaza offers yakisoba, soft-serve ice cream, and sweet treats, so each family member can choose their favorite and enjoy it together. The drinking water station fed by Mt. Fuji's spring water is a nice spot to take a break.

Tips

There are long lines around lunchtime, so an early lunch before late morning is recommended for families with children. Outdoor seating is the norm, so bring a jacket during cold seasons. Your hands will easily get sticky, so prepare wet wipes. It's just a short walk from Sengen Grand Shrine, so travel time is minimal.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. Arriving before noon makes it easy to find seating and allows you to savor freshly made yakisoba.
