A unique museum known for its distinctive architecture: a wooden lattice-constructed inverted cone shape that, when reflected in the water basin, forms the silhouette of Mt. Fuji. Inside, visitors spiral up a gently sloping ramp while viewing Mt. Fuji landscapes projected on the walls, creating the feeling of actually climbing the mountain. When you reach the observation hall at the top, the actual Mt. Fuji suddenly appears through the large windows—a dramatic moment that draws cheers from children. Through videos and exhibits, visitors can easily learn about Mt. Fuji as a sacred mountain and source of artistic inspiration, perfectly preparing you for your visit to Shiraito Falls.

Tips

The slope is gentle enough for strollers and there's an elevator, so families with children can visit with peace of mind. It's a short 10-minute walk from Sengen Grand Shrine, with admission of 300 yen for adults and free for high school students and younger. The view of Mt. Fuji from the observation hall depends on the weather, so visiting during sunny weather from late morning through early afternoon is recommended. The facility also has a café for resting after a meal.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. Until early afternoon, Mt. Fuji is less likely to be obscured by clouds, making the observation hall views ideal.
