Refuel with station bento and Kawane tea, then transfer to the Apto Line

About this spot

The terminal station at the end of the Ōigawa Main Line and the starting point of the South Alps Apto Line heading into the Oku-Ōi region. The spacious depot houses vintage rail cars, and simply observing the platform is a treat for train enthusiasts. Local restaurants and tea shops dot the station area, and the local specialty—soft serve ice cream made with Kawane tea—is popular. Have a hearty meal here to prepare for the remote railway route ahead.
