This facility displays the Tachineputa (立佞武多) that color the summer of Goshogawara year-round. A colossal float standing about 23 meters tall and weighing approximately 19 tons rises in the atrium display room. The ingenious design lets you take an elevator to the top and descend the spiral slope while admiring the display—you can view the warrior paintings up close from every height, from the head to the feet of this majestic figure. The float on display is an active float that actually takes to the streets during the festival proper, and the sheer scale and vivid colors are truly breathtaking when viewed from below. The facility also houses a workshop where new Tachineputa are crafted, offering chances to encounter master craftsmen at work. Just a short walk from Tsugaru-Goshogawara Station (津軽五所川原駅), it's a fitting starting point for your Tsugaru Railway journey and a symbol of Goshogawara.

Tips

About a 5-minute walk from Tsugaru-Goshogawara Station or JR Goshogawara Station. The display room is designed with the spiral slope as its main feature, making it accessible for strollers and those with mobility concerns. Photography is permitted inside, so don't forget your camera. There's a gift shop on the first floor, convenient for finding Tachineputa souvenirs.

Best time to visit

Allow about 1 hour 15 minutes. The late morning, just after opening, tends to be less crowded, allowing you to leisurely gaze up at the colossal float.
