A prefectural park beautifully developed around Goshogane Lake, created by damming the Shizukuishi River. Several garden areas are scattered around the lake, and the vehicle square in the Familyland section is a children's paradise filled with unique pedal-powered quirky bicycles. Expansive lawns and playgrounds allow children to run and play freely. The view of Mt. Iwate rising across the lake is spectacular, and in the evening you may encounter the beautiful sight of the lake turning a reddish-orange hue. Being just moments from Morioka Handcraft Village makes it perfect for playing after the crafting experience. It's a wonderful supporting role in your trip, truly answering children's "Can we play more!"
Tips
Just a short drive from Morioka Handcraft Village with free parking at each garden area. The vehicle square's operating season and hours vary by season, so check the on-site signage. Bringing a picnic sheet and ball for lawn play adds to the fun.
Best time to visit
Plan for approximately 1 hour. Enjoy vehicles and play equipment while it's light, and the evening view of Mt. Iwate across Goshogane Lake is particularly beautiful.
