Rather than falling water, this is a slide waterfall where clear water flows down a massive granite slope for approximately 300 meters like a natural slide. As the water flows across the rock face, it creates snow-ring-like ripples, giving this beautiful waterfall its name. From the viewing deck at the end of a 40-minute forest trail walk from Mannenbashi Bridge, you can gaze upon its full splendor. This unusual waterfall, enveloped not by a roaring sound but by a soft rustling sound like fabric, is a landscape rarely encountered elsewhere. The stunning vista that only those who have walked can reach is like a reward—an ideal stage for family commemorative photographs.
Tips
Approximately 2 kilometers one-way, 40 minutes on foot from Mannenbashi Bridge. While the walking trail is generally easy, there are some ups and downs—hold the hand of small children. There are no restrooms around the viewing deck, so please use the facilities before departure.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour (excluding hiking time). In the afternoon when light reflects off the rock face, the snow-ring patterns stand out even more.
