Located at approximately 1,300m elevation near the center of Shikoku Karst, this highland offers encounters with landscapes that symbolize the karst terrain. Gently rolling green slopes with grazing cattle and slowly turning white windmills create a true "sky pasture." Below, the mountains of Kuma Highland layer upon one another, and the open feeling is so complete you seem to be right among the clouds. With accommodation facilities and a campground, it has long served as a base for Shikoku Karst tourism. Simply sitting on the grassland watching the clouds drift by is enough to ease your heart—a highlight worthy of a scenic drive date.

Tips

A parking area, shop, and restrooms are available as a convenient rest point. Avoid getting too close to grazing cattle; view them from outside the fence. The ridge is windy, so bring a light jacket for comfort.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. Afternoon light deepens the green of the grassland, making the pastoral scene even more picturesque.
