White Windmills Line the Ridge with Breathtaking Views of Both the Seto Inland Sea and Uwa Sea

About this spot

An observation park developed along the ridge of the Sada Misaki peninsula where you can get close views of the white wind turbines for power generation standing on the hills—a spectacular spot. The unique feature of this narrow peninsula is being able to look out at two seas simultaneously: the Seto Inland Sea to your right and the Uwa Sea to your left. The contrast of green hills and white windmills with blue sea spreading on both sides is known as an iconic landscape symbolizing the Sada Misaki drive. Standing on the observation deck, you can faintly hear the sound of the windmills turning, and the strength of the wind blowing up from the sea will make you understand why it's called the Windmill Hills.

Tips

Free parking available. The hilltop has no shelter and the sea breeze is very strong, so be careful not to have your hat blown away. Even in spring or fall, it's reassuring to have a light jacket.

Best time to visit

Plan for about 50 minutes. In the morning the air is clear, making it easy to see the colors of the seas on both sides distinctly.
