This hometown center stands on the banks of the Yasuda River in the heart of Umaji Village, combining direct sales of village yuzu products and a dining hall—the tourist hub of the area. The dining hall serves country cuisine infused with yuzu as well as noodles, with the refreshing tartness and aroma brightening the mountain village ingredients. The shop overflows with village-made products ranging from Gokun Umaji Village and ponzu to yuzu miso and yuzu cosmetics. Yuzu-scented soft ice cream is also popular. Shopping at this intimate distance where you can meet the makers is a special joy of visiting the village. This is where you'll finalize your souvenir purchases.
Tips
Lunchtime can be busy with tourists, so avoiding the peak hours allows for a more leisurely experience. Since most souvenirs are bottled and heavy, an eco-bag or cooler bag is handy. The location is within walking distance of Umaji Onsen.
