Stroll Through the Flower Temple and Enjoy the Ocean View of Yuigahama from the Observation Platform

About this spot

Known as the "Flower Temple," Hase-dera is an ancient temple full of color year-round with hydrangeas, autumn foliage, and more. After paying respect to the eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva standing over 9 meters tall, head to the observation platform. The sweeping views from Yuigahama Beach to the Miura Peninsula will impress adults and children alike. Searching for hidden "comfort Jizo" statues throughout the grounds is a big hit with kids.

Tips

The grounds have many stairs, so it's safer to leave strollers near the entrance and use a baby carrier instead. The hydrangea path is usually at its best in June; early morning hours are ideal.

Best time to visit

Allow just over 1 hour; early morning is relatively quiet
