Located in the center of Kumagaya's town, this shrine plays the leading role in the "Kumagaya Uchiwa Festival" held every July. The Uchiwa Festival is called the Gion Festival of the Kanto region and is known as a summer symbol of Kumagaya, with elaborate festival floats and portable shrines parading through the city. On the day of the fireworks festival, the shrine grounds are relatively quiet, allowing you to leisurely experience the summer festival atmosphere. Though a modest shrine ground, it's a place where you can physically feel the history long cherished by local people. By visiting on the day of the fireworks festival, which like the Uchiwa Festival is a representative summer event, you can savor Kumagaya's summer culture more deeply.

熊谷花火大会は、荒川大橋下流の河畔から打ち上げられる埼玉県北部を代表する夏の花火大会です。広大な荒川の河川敷を会場に、夜空いっぱいに広がる大輪の花火が次々と開きます。障害物の少ない開けた河川敷からは花火が正面に大きく見え、音の迫力も格別。川面を渡る夜風の中、家族みんなで見上げる花火は夏の最高の思い出になります。フィナーレに向けて連続して打ち上がる花火が夜空を埋め尽くす瞬間は、この1日のクライマックスです。

Tips

開催時間や打ち上げ開始時刻は大会公式情報で必ず事前に確認してください(2026年の詳細は未発表のため変更の可能性があります)。荒天時の開催可否も公式発表で確認を。終了後は熊谷駅周辺と主要道路が大変混雑するため、フィナーレ後しばらく河川敷で休んでから移動する時間差帰宅がおすすめです。

Tips

About a 10-minute walk from Kumagaya Station, located in the center of the town. Admission is free. On the day of the fireworks festival, traffic restrictions may begin in the town center from evening, so check your route beforehand.
