A streetscape of continuous merchant house architecture from the Edo and Meiji periods in central Gojo City. Designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings, the white-walled storehouses and wooden latticed doors that line the street vividly convey the former appearance of a historic way station and commercial center. The street itself narrates Gojo's history as a key junction where the water transport of the Yoshino River and the Ise and Koya highways intersected. A quiet afternoon walk through these historic streets, before the festival's evening bustle, allows you to fully appreciate the town's depth.

2026年8月15日(土)19時30分から20時30分まで、五條市の吉野川大川橋上流側河川敷で開催される納涼花火大会です。約4,000発の花火が吉野川の広い川幅を舞台に次々と打ち上がり、周囲の山々に音が反響して体の芯まで響く迫力が味わえます。川面に映り込む花火の光は、河川敷ならではの見どころです。お盆の夜、故郷の夏を締めくくるような静かな感慨と、大輪の花火が開く瞬間の興奮が交わる1時間は、南奈良の夏の夜の特別な記憶になります。フィナーレの連発が川と空を染め上げる瞬間がこの日のクライマックスです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は五條市の公式発表で必ず確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と駐車場の出口が大変混雑します。フィナーレ後はしばらく河川敷で余韻を楽しんでから移動する時間差帰宅がおすすめです。帰路の河川敷は照明が少ないため、ライトを手元に準備しておきましょう。
