A vast castle park developed from the grounds of Takaoka Castle, built by Toshinaga Maeda, lord of the Kaga Domain. A wide moat surrounds the park, and lush greenery helps soften the intense summer sun. The park also features a zoo and museum, allowing families with children to spend plenty of time there. A simple stroll along the tree-lined moat paths is pleasant in itself, and it's an ideal location for adjusting the time before the fireworks. Located near the center of Takaoka City, it serves as a convenient hub when moving toward Takaoka Station in the evening.

北日本新聞納涼花火大会の高岡会場は、庄川高岡大橋上流の河川敷から打ち上げが行われます。広々とした河川敷は遮るものが少なく、夜空いっぱいに開く花火を正面から楽しめる開放感が魅力です。川面に映る花火の反射も美しく、水辺ならではの情景が広がります。2026年8月4日(火)19時50分から20時25分までの35分間、高岡の夏の夜を彩る花火を家族揃って見上げましょう。フィナーレの大玉が夜空を照らす瞬間は、この1日の旅のクライマックスです。
Tips
開始前に余裕を持って観覧場所を確保しておきましょう。河川敷は地面が不整地の場合があるため、レジャーシートに加えて折りたたみイスがあると快適です。終了後は帰路が混雑するため、時間差での帰宅を検討してください。荒天時の開催可否は主催の北日本新聞社の公式発表で確認を。川沿いは足元が暗くなるため、ライトの用意をおすすめします。
Tips
About a 10-minute walk from Takaoka Daibutsu, and about a 15-minute walk from Takaoka Station. Park and zoo admission is free (some facilities charge a separate fee). In the summer afternoon, the sun is intense, so it's recommended to stay hydrated and walk the shaded moat-side routes. In the evening, move to the area around Takaoka Station for dinner.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. The shaded areas before evening are cool, and the moat views are calm, making it an ideal time for strolling.
