The Kamo River, which originates from Mount Ishizuchisan, is a clear stream flowing through the center of Saijo City, and the riverside green space is cherished as a place for residents' walks and recreation. Walking along the riverbank, on clear days, the ridge line of Mount Ishizuchisan, a symbol of Saijo City, spreads before you, offering an open and expansive view. The river breeze is pleasant, and during summer months on the clear Kamo River, you can see families enjoying river play. Close to Isono Shrine, a leisurely riverside walk combined with shrine worship makes for a good refreshing pause before the evening fireworks festival. It's an ideal spot for children to pick up stones from the riverbed or play in the water.

2026年7月25日(土)20時から21時まで、壬生川駅正面線(旭新開)を会場に開催されるにゅうがわ花火大会です。約6,000発の花火が西条の夜空を1時間にわたって彩り、地元の夏を代表する一大イベントとして多くの人に親しまれています。周囲が開けた会場は視界が広く、頭上いっぱいに広がる花火をダイナミックに楽しめます。スターマインや大玉の尺玉など多彩な演目が続き、フィナーレの連続打ち上げは音と光が重なり合う圧巻の迫力。家族みんなで顔を上げて見守る1時間は、夏の西条の忘れられない思い出になるはずです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は西条市や大会主催者の公式発表を当日早めに確認してください。終了後は壬生川駅が大変混み合うため、花火終了後しばらく会場周辺で余韻を楽しんでから移動する時間差帰宅がおすすめ。帰りの予讃線の時刻は事前にチェックを。足元が暗い場所もあるので、スマートフォンのライトを活用して安全に帰りましょう。

Within walking distance from Isono Shrine. When descending to the riverbed, the stones can be slippery underfoot, so hold small children's hands. Summer sun is strong, so don't forget a hat and drinks. If you plan to play in the river, prepare sandals and a change of clothes for peace of mind.
