Hiyoshi Shrine is the main shrine of approximately 3,800 Hiyoshi and Hie shrines throughout Japan, and is said to have been founded approximately 2,100 years ago. Throughout the grounds, numerous subsidiary shrines including the East and West Main Halls are scattered across the foot of Mount Hiei, and the sight of national treasure shrine buildings standing in rows among deep forest is truly impressive. Even in the heat of summer, the grounds are shaded by dense trees, wrapped in the cool air of the mountainside. The distinctive Sanno Torii gate (a joined-hands torii) is the symbol of Hiyoshi Shrine and is perfect for commemorative photos. This ancient shrine, with its deep connection to Enryaku-ji Temple on Mount Hiei, combines the dignity of a prestigious shrine with the tranquility of its sacred forest—perfect to experience thoroughly on an afternoon stroll before the evening's fireworks.

2026年7月23日(木)19時30分から20時10分まで、近江舞子中浜水泳場から打ち上げられる約2,000発の花火大会です。日本最大の湖・琵琶湖の広大な湖面を舞台に、スターマインや尺玉が次々と夜空に開きます。静かな湖面に映る逆さ花火の美しさは、内陸の湖ならではの絶景で、比良山系の山並みのシルエットと花火の光のコントラストは息をのむ迫力です。波音の代わりに湖面をわたる穏やかな風とともに、約40分間の光と音の競演を湖畔から楽しみましょう。夏の琵琶湖に刻まれる、家族の忘れられない夜の記憶になります。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は主催者の公式発表で確認を。終了直後は近江舞子駅が大変混雑するため、フィナーレ後は湖畔で少し余韻を楽しんでから時間差での帰宅がおすすめ。帰りの湖西線の時刻は事前に調べておきましょう。足元が暗くなるためライトがあると安心です。

Tips

About 10 minutes on foot from JR Hieisan Sakamoto Station. Admission is 300 yen for adults. The spacious grounds are easier to navigate in comfortable walking shoes. Talismans and stamp seals are available near the Main Hall. It's about 5 minutes on foot to the next stop, Shigain Monzeki.
